Regulator engagement: building an RGP regulator community

RGP Regulator Engagement Programme

The RGP Regulator Engagement Programme is open to members of the financial regulatory community, aiming to bolster regulators’ digital readiness.

Historically, a standardised approach for comparing diverse regulatory regimes has been lacking. While regulatory content, such as rulebooks and policy documents, is readily available in a “human-readable” format, access to “machine-readable” regulations suitable for integration into regulator-facing applications has been limited.

This deficiency has made it challenging for regulators to effectively benchmark their regulatory frameworks against those of their counterparts. Moreover, it has restricted their ability to gain comprehensive insights into the regulatory landscape and respond promptly to emerging market trends.

The CRG’s jurisdiction-agnostic taxonomies provide a universal basis for comparison. Coupled with the RGP’s development of public-good tools tailored for regulators, these initiatives aim to address these long-standing challenges.

The Regulatory Engagement Programme offers the following opportunities:

Deeper engagement through RGP Design Sprints

RGP Design Sprints play a pivotal role in defining the roadmap for the development of public-good tools tailored to the needs of financial regulators. Examples of use cases encompass heat map visualisations, digital publishing tools, and support for multi-language regulatory publishing.

Education and learning

Participation in RGP events includes engaging in roundtables, webinars, and forums alongside global peers. These platforms offer valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange and learning.
