Overview

The Accelerate Cambridge Female Founders Day features accomplished female entrepreneurs, who share their experiences, insights, and challenges in the world of business. This event series promises to help strengthen and consolidate the Entrepreneurship Centre’s Female Founder community.

On Thursday 14 March, the Accelerate Cambridge programme held its inaugural Female Founders Day. The event brought together the inspiring and enterprising founders of female-led ventures that have enrolled on the Accelerate Cambridge programme during its 10-year existence, for a series of panel discussions addressing some of the issues that female founders face and thinking about what the future of female entrepreneurship may look like.

The Accelerate Cambridge programme continues to challenge the norm, with over a quarter of all ventures being female-led, almost double the average seen in 2023. A recent Accelerate Cambridge cohort comprising of over 50% female-led ventures suggests this figure is likely to improve.

It was a truly inspiring afternoon. It was a space where we, as women in entrepreneurship, exchanged experiences, strategies and visions for the future. Given that women make 51% of the population, it's time our representation in the entrepreneurial sector mirrors this.
