Frank Wilkinson is a Founder Member of the Institute for Employment Rights, an Emeritus Reader of the University of Cambridge, and a Visiting Professor at Birkbeck College, University of London.
Dr Wilkinson has a Diploma in Economics from the University of Oxford, and a BA, MA and PhD from the University of Cambridge. He left school at the age of 15 in 1949, and worked as farm worker, army cook (national service) and ironworker before attending Ruskin College, Oxford from 1961-1963 and King’s College, Cambridge from 1963-1969.
From 1969 until his retirement, he worked as a Researcher in the University of Cambridge’s Faculty of Economics. He currently teaches on a trade union degree course at Birkbeck College. Frank is Chairman of the Cambridge Political Economy Society and Editor of the Cambridge Journal of Economics.
