Ana Lourenço

Research Associate

Ana is a lecturer at Católica Porto Business School and co-coordinator of the Double Degree in Law and Management. She is a researcher in regulation and an integrated member of CEGE-Research Centre in Management and Economics, where she is PI for the Markets & Policy group. She is a member of the international project IDPSO- Illicit drug policies and social outcomes: a cross-country analysis, leading the team working on the cross-country comparison of national drug policies using leximetrics.

Ana received a PhD in Management at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge with a thesis entitled 'Regulating contracts in the independent television production industry' (supervised by Professor Simon Deakin). She was a participant in the international projects EUROCAP (Towards a European Politics of Capabilities) and REFGOV (Reflexive Governance in the Public Interest) and a national expert in the project 'B2B Unfair Trading Practices in the Retail Supply Chain'. Ana has also been a consultant within CEGEA, having co-authored a number of studies on the economic analysis of the main media groups in Portugal for ERC, the Portuguese Media Regulator. She was a member of CGI, the independent supervisory council of RTP (the Portuguese Public Service Broadcaster), and is currently president of the statutory board of Sonae Sierra SGPS, an international retail real estate company. Her research interests lie in studying the role of regulation in the development of markets.
