Professional history

Yvonneis the Chief Investment Officer for Wangara Green Ventures, where she drives the investment process and leads the team in making long-term investments in SMEs for financial, environmental and social returns. Wangara Green Ventures is a climate-focused, impact-investing company that provides patient capital to small and growing green businesses in Ghana.

Prior to this role, she was Head of Corporate Finance at Ideal Capital Partners where she supported SMEs in raising finance for their business growth. She also worked within Compliance and AML for Barclays Bank in Ghana (now Absa Bank) and UMB Ghana. Before her MBA, she managed investment funds for retail and institutional clients and advised on corporate finance transactions for SMEs while working for FirstBanC Financial Services in Ghana. Yvonne is an angel investor in African-women-led startup businesses. 

Yvonne earned her Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) undergraduate degree from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. She holds a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors, UK and a Certificate in Impact Measurement from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, UK.

She serves as Non-Executive Director on the boards of VRA Health Services, Akwaaba Feeds and Branch International Microcredit, all in Ghana.

Society & charity work

Yvonne has been a member of the Steering Committee of ANDE (Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs) West Africa Chapter since 2019, where she uses her expertise to support ANDE’s activities in the subregion. ANDE is a global network of organisations that propel entrepreneurship in developing countries.
