Professional history

William heads up CCS Training, which operates third-level colleges, including PCI College and Iron Mill College, which in partnership with two UK universities provide certificates, diplomas, primary degrees, postgraduate diplomas and masters’ degrees, in the specialist area of counselling and psychotherapy.

William previously worked at senior levels in corporate finance with PwC London and Belfast, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, corporate recovery and reconstructions, business valuations, stock exchange listings, finance raising and public-private partnerships. He also has directorships with a number of groups involved in a diverse range of activities including foreign direct investment, contracting and manufacturing.

William earned his undergraduate degree in business at the University of Dublin, Trinity College and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Society & charity work

William is involved in a number of charities, including Chair of Inspire, a large mental health, intellectual disabilities and addiction charity, which employs over 1,200 staff, supports 4,000 people, and provides in excess of 66,500 counselling sessions each year to members of 350 organisations across the UK and Ireland.

He is a former Council member and Chair of the Economy Committee of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce. A keen golfer, William is a past Captain of The Royal Belfast Golf Club, Ireland’s oldest golf club.
