Professional history

Ed has extensive experience leading multi-national teams as an Investor, Financier, Asset Manager & Advisor on a diverse range of global CRE strategies across the capital stack through various market cycles.

He has transacted on over $25bn Public & Private market deals for Closed & Open Ended Funds, Separate Accounts and Principal Mandates, including – Direct & Indirect deals, M&A, Capital Markets, Fund Finance, Special Sits and Distressed Credit.

Experienced across all major property types from core un-levered deals through to speculative developments and highly structured situations involving cross border deals, OpCo PropCo transactions & subordinated debt (b-notes, mezzanine and pref equity).

Regularly presenting to diverse audiences on CRE, ESG, Credit & Financial Markets.

He is currently the European Director at NewAcre Partners, specialising in structuring complex and innovative capital solutions across Real Estate, Credit, Private Equity & Secondaries, often with an ESG / Sustainable Finance focus.

Previously Ed was the Head of Financing and Chair of the Debt Committee at Rockspring (subsequently acquired by Patrizia SE), the Director of Investment Management at a multi-strategy Single Family Office, an Investment Manager at RBS and an Analyst with Deutsche Bank, having started his career in the US with Merrill Lynch.

Edward earned his undergraduate degree in Geography at the University of Leeds.

Society & charity work

Ed has a particular interest in Proptech, having been an Advisor to Brickvest & Cloudscraper Exchange, both global Real Estate liquidity platforms, and informally mentors’ start-ups in this space.

He was also an advisor to the donor of a USD $118 million gift to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). This included assisting in the formation of the STL Real Estate Entrepreneurship Lab, a multi-disciplinary program utilising EdTech, that synergistically promotes socially responsible real estate entrepreneurship with a focus on China.

He is a Mentor to MPhil and PhD Real Estate Finance students at the University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
