John initially joined the CBR in January 1999 to work on the
project on insolvency and stakeholding, funded by the Leverhulme
Trust, taking leave from the School of Law, University of Nottingham,
where he lectured in company law and the economics of law. From
September 2001 he took up a Senior Research Fellowship in the CBR,
directing a core-funded project on corporate law and economic
performance, and in 2002 he became a Research Associate following
his appointment to the Faculty of Law. He has published widely
in the fields of corporate law, insolvency law and law and
economics. He is a fellow of Trinity Hall.
